By this time all of you must have seen the new statue of Mother Mary in our grotto at our rose garden. Unfortunately the old statue of Mother Mary was stolen in the month of January 2019 by a robber at midnight. The CC cameras around our church had captured his picture and the manner in which he carried the statue on his shoulder. As soon as we came to know the incident of the statue of Mother Mary being stolen from the rose garden, we informed the Hayward police about it. The Hayward police immediately visited the site and took note of the robbery and are still looking to catch the thief. Many of our parishioners felt sad that the robber took away an object of devotion and wanted it to be replaced by another statue of Mother Mary in the same place. So this time we decided to buy a marble statue of Our lady of Grace which cannot be easily carried by any one. An order was placed with Cotter’s in Los Angeles for a marble statue of Our Lady of Grace at the cost of $5,000. Then Cotters in turn placed the order with the statue makers in Vietnam. The 800 pound marble statue of Our Lady of Grace was delivered to us by the Cotter’s on August 21, 2019. Last Friday evening at 6.00 pm we began the work of placing the statue on the pedestal in our grotto. The work was not an easy task as the statue weighed 800 pounds. It needed lots of planning and hard labor to place it safely on the high pedestal. After six hours of hard work, we finally succeeded to place the statue safely on the pedestal at 12.15 am. The work of placing the statue on the pedestal was carried out by Abelardo Viveros, Alonzo Garcia, Victor Nochebuena, Ernesto Vazquez, Francisco Munoz, Fr.Danh Pham and myself. Our Choir Master Ariel Mayormita provided the needed refreshment of Popeyes Fried chicken and biscuits. In the name of our parish I thank all of them sincerely for rendering their valuable time and hard to install the statue of Mother Mary in our grotto. A special word of thanks also goes to the donors – Ms.Flor Herce, Ms.Azucena Jimenez, Ms. Dolores Macapagal & Ms. Marina Martinez for providing the needed finance to purchase the statue. May Mother Mary always intercede for their families. May God’s gracious eyes be always upon them and upon their families. ———————————————————————- Once an artist was busy painting the images of saints above the altar of a cathedral. He noticed that an elderly woman was regularly coming to the church in the afternoon and praying before the statue of Mother Mary. One day the artist wanted to have some fun with the elderly lady. So he hid behind the statue of Jesus and said, “Daughter, I am Jesus. Tell me your problems.” The Lady immediately retorted, “Keep quiet. I am talking to your mother.”

En este momento, todos ustedes deben haber visto la nueva estatua de la Madre María en nuestra gruta en el jardín de rosas. Desafortunadamente, la vieja estatua de la Madre María fue robada en el mes de Enero de 2019 por un ladrón a la medianoche. Las cámaras alrededor de nuestra iglesia habían capturado su imagen y la forma en que llevaba la estatua sobre su hombro. Tan pronto como supimos del incidente de la estatua de la Madre María robada del jardín de rosas, informamos a la policía de Hayward al respecto. La policía de Hayward visitó de inmediato el si!o y tomó nota del robo y todavía está buscando atrapar al ladrón. Muchos de nuestros feligreses se sin!eron tristes porque el ladrón se llevó un objeto de devoción y quería que fuera reemplazado por otra estatua de la Madre María en el mismo lugar. Así que esta vez decidimos comprar una estatua de mármol de Nuestra Señora de Gracia que nadie puede llevar fácilmente. Se realizó un pedido con Co”ers, en Los Ángeles para una estatua de mármol de Nuestra Señora de Gracia al costo de ti 5,000. Los Co”er, a su vez, hicieron el pedido a los fabricantes de estatuas en Vietnam. Co”er’s nos entregó la estatua de mármol de 800 libras de la Nuestra Senora de Gracia el 21 de agosto de 2019. El viernes por la noche a las 6:00 p.m. comenzamos a colocar la estatua en el pedestal de nuestra gruta. El trabajo no fue una tarea fácil ya que la estatua pesaba 800 libras. Necesitaba mucha planificación y trabajo duro para colocarlo de manera segura en el pedestal alto. Después de seis horas de arduo trabajo, finalmente logramos colocar la estatua de forma segura en el pedestal a las 12.15 a.m. los señores Abelardo Viveros, Alonzo García, Víctor Nochebuena, Ernesto Vazquez, Francisco Munoz, el P. Danh Pham y yo realizamos el trabajo de colocar la estatua en el pedestal. Nuestro Maestro del coro Ariel Mayormita proporcionó el refresco necesario una cena de pollo y galletas del restaurante de Popeyes Fried. En nombre de nuestra parroquia, les agradezco sinceramente a todos por dedicar su valioso !empo y su dittcil instalación de la estatua de la Madre María en nuestra gruta. Un agradecimiento especial también para los donantes: Ms.Flor Herce, Ms. Marina Mar!nez, Ms.Azucena Jimenez, Ms. Dolores Macapagal por proporcionar la financiación necesaria para comprar la estatua. Que la Madre María siempre interceda por sus familias. Que los ojos bondadosos de Dios estén siempre sobre ellos y sobre sus familias. ————————— ————————— ———————- Una vez un arista estaba ocupado pintando las imágenes de los santos sobre el altar de una catedral. Se dio cuenta de que una anciana venía regularmente a la iglesia por la tarde y rezaba ante la estatua de la Madre María. Un día, el ar!sta quería diver!rse con la anciana. Entonces se escondió detrás de la estatua de Jesús y dijo: “Hija, yo soy Jesús. Cuéntame tus problemas “. La dama respondió de inmediato:” Cállate. Estoy hablando con tu madre.
