Egyptian pyramids are world-famous as one of the “seven Wonders” of the ancient world. But they are actually gigantic tombs containing the mummified bodies of Egyptian Pharaohs. Westminster Abby is famous, and thousands visit it because the dead bodies of famous writers, philosophers and politicians are entombed there. But there is a Shrine of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, and pilgrims from all over the world visit a tomb there which is empty with a note at its entrance which says, “He is not here.” It is famous because Jesus Christ who was once buried there rose from the dead, leaving an empty tomb, as He had told his disciples he would. Thus, He worked the most important miracle in His life, defying the laws of nature and proving that He is God. During this season of Easter we celebrate this greatest and unique event. May our life radiate the joy of the apostles who beheld the risen Lord in the upper room. May our joy be contagious by bringing joy, happiness and peace to everyone whom we meet in our day to day life. May the peace of the Risen Lord be with you and with your family always particularly during this season of Easter.
I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped in one way or the other in the church during this season of Lent and Holy Week. So many people came and thanked me for the way we organized the entire liturgical celebrations during this season of lent, particularly the Holy Week. Though the credit belongs to everyone, I particularly thank the Liturgical Committee, the Choir, the Altar Servers, the Lectors, the Eucharistic Ministers, the Eucharistic ministers to the sick, the Environment Committee, the Ushers, the Amigo the Christo, the Knights of Columbus, the Catechists and the Youth for their dedicated service and sacrifice. Well done. May God’s gracious eyes and blessings be upon you and your family for what you have done. You are indeed such a blessing to St.Joachim Parish.

Las Pirámides Egipcias gozan de fama mundial como una de las “Siete Maravillas” del mundo antiguo. Pero son en realidad tumbas gigantescas conteniendo los cuerpos momificados de Faraones Egipcios. Westminster Abby es famoso, y miles visitan porque los cuerpos muertos de famosos escritores, filósofos y políticos están enterrados allí. Pero hay un Santuario del Santo Sepulcro en Jerusalén, y peregrinos de todo el mundo visitan allí una tumba que está vacía con una nota en su entrada que dice: “No está aquí”. Es famoso porque Jesucristo, quien una vez fue enterrado allí, resucitó de los muertos dejando una tumba vacía, tal y como les había dicho a sus discípulos que lo haría. Por lo tanto, hizo el milagro más importante en su vida, desafiando las leyes de la naturaleza y demostrando que Él es Dios. Durante esta temporada de Pascua celebramos este acontecimiento mayor y único. Que nuestra vida pueda irradiar la alegría de los apóstoles que contemplaban al Señor resucitado en el Cenáculo. Que nuestra alegría sea contagiosa trayendo alegría, felicidad y paz para todos quienes nos encontramos en nuestra vida diaria. Que la paz del Señor Resucitado esté contigo y con tu familia siempre y especialmente durante esta temporada de Pascua.
Aprovecho esta oportunidad para expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a todos los que ayudaron de una manera u otra en la Iglesia durante esta temporada de Cuaresma y Semana Santa. Mucha gente vino y me agradeció por la forma en que organizamos las celebraciones litúrgicas toda durante esta temporada de Cuaresma, especialmente la Semana Santa. Aunque el crédito le pertenece a todos, agradezco especialmente al Comité de Liturgia, el Coro, los Monaguillos, los Lectores, los Ministros Extraordinarios de la Eucaristía, los Ministros Extraordinarios de la Eucaristía a los enfermos, el Comité de Decoración, los Ujieres, los Amigos de Cristo, los Caballeros de Colón, las Catequistas y los Jóvenes por su servicio y sacrificio. Bien hecho. Que los ojos de Dios y las bendiciones caigan sobre ustedes y sus familias por lo que han hecho. Tú eres ciertamente una bendición para la parroquia de San Joaquín.
