The feasts and festivals that we had celebrated in recent times such as the Festival of Guadalupe, the Simbang Gabi celebrations, the Posada celebrations, the festival of Christmas etc., has demonstrated beyond doubt that St. Joachim is full of life. Quite a few times when I introduced myself as the Pastor of St. Joachim church, the first question that posed to me was, “what is happening in your church? Why do we see so many cars parked in your church campus most of the time?” Well, that only shows that there is life in our church. And I am happy that our church and its facilities are being used well both for worship as well as for other faith related activities. Since it is totally impossible for me organize all these events, I rely on groups and individuals to carry out various activities. But in the course of time, I find the same people end up organizing different events. Moreover, big events such as, Parish Picnic, Fall Festival, Guadalupe celebrations, Posada celebrations, Simbang Gabi celebrations, sale of raffle tickets, Dinner Dance etc, need the co operation of various ministries in our church. It had been suggested so many times in the Events Committee meetings that to organize these events in an efficient manner as well as to involve all the parishioners, it would be nice to have representatives from various ministries in our church as members of the Event Committee. Through these representatives, the committee can not only easily and quickly reach all the parishioners but also can involve all the parishioners in organizing various events. I feel this is a wonderful suggestion for the good of our parish.
Therefore, it is mandatory for all the leaders of ministries and groups that are registered in our church to be members of the Events Committee. For one or the other reason if it is not possible for the leader to be a member of the Events Committee, he / she should delegate a member from the group to be a member or to participate in the Events Committee meetings. Each committee is requested to give their representative’s name to Mrs. Pat Ludwig, our Parish Office Secretary as well as to Mr. Ron Ytem, the Chairman of Events Committee before February 15th, 2017. I sincerely hope that this new arrangement will greatly help to organize various parish events efficiently as well as to involve all our parishioners in different events.

Las fiestas y festivales que hemos celebrado en los últimos tiempos como la fiesta de Guadalupe, la celebración Simbang Gabi, la celebración de las Posadas, el festival de Navidad, etc, han demostrado fuera de toda duda que San Joaquín está llena de vida. Unas cuantas veces cuando me presenté como el Pastor de la Iglesia de San Joaquín, la primera pregunta que me preguntaron fue, “¿qué está sucediendo en su Iglesia? ¿Por qué vemos tantos coches estacionados en el campus de la Iglesia la mayor parte del tiempo?” Bueno, eso sólo demuestra que hay vida en nuestra Iglesia. Y estoy feliz que nuestra Iglesia y sus instalaciones se utilizan para el culto, así como también para otras actividades relacionadas con la fe. Ya que es totalmente imposible para mí organizar todos estos acontecimientos, dependo de grupos e individuos para llevar a cabo diversas actividades. Pero en el transcurso del tiempo, encuentro que la misma gente termina organizando diferentes eventos. Por otra parte, grandes eventos tales como, el Picnic Parroquial, el Festival de Otoño, las celebraciones de Guadalupe, las celebraciones de la Posada, la celebración Simbang Gabi, venta de boletos de rifa, la Cena Baile etc, necesitan la cooperación de diferentes ministerios en nuestra Iglesia. Se ha sugerido varias veces en las reuniones del Comité de Eventos que para organizar estos eventos de manera eficiente, así como a involucrar a todos los feligreses, sería bueno tener representantes de varios ministerios en nuestra Iglesia como miembros de la Comisión de Eventos. A través de estos representantes, el Comité puede no sólo fácil y rápidamente llegar a todos los feligreses sino también puede involucrar a todos los feligreses en la organización de diversos eventos. Creo que esta es una propuesta maravillosa para el bien de nuestra parroquia. Por lo tanto, es obligatorio para todos los líderes de ministerios y grupos que están registrados en nuestra Iglesia ser miembros de la Comisión de Eventos. Si por una u otra razón no es posible para el líder ser miembro de la Comisión de Eventos, él / ella debe delegar a un miembro del grupo para ser miembro o participar en las reuniones del Comité de Eventos. Se solicita que cada ministerio proporcione el nombre de su representante a la Sra. Pat Ludwig, nuestra Secretaria de la Oficina Parroquial así como al Sr. Ron Ytem, el Presidente del Comité de Eventos antes del 15 de Febrero de 2017. Espero sinceramente que este nuevo acuerdo sea de gran ayuda para organizar varios eventos de la parroquia eficientemente, así como para involucrar a todos nuestros feligreses en diferentes eventos.
